Bryan was born and raised in El Paso, Texas to immigrant parents from Mexico. Bryan joined the United States Army and served six years. Once his obligation with the military was completed he wanted to continue to serve other and his community so he went to Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where he got his Juris Doctor and became a lawyer.
He then became a prosecutor but noticed how the judicial system often did not serve minorities and especially immigrants who did not know any better and their rights and dreams of the American Dream would get crushed by the bureaucracy and defense attorneys who did not speak the same language as them and did not bother to explain their rights. For that reason Bryan left the Prosecutors office and joined La Liga Defensora so he could help immigrants who had been victims of the system overturn their convictions and be able to get a fair opportunity at the American Dream.
